Even if you are a diehard “ONE holiday at a time and give Thanksgiving its due person,” I bet you are still thinking about the holidays that come in December. I am even hosting Thanksgiving this year and I already have most of my December holiday shopping done. Phew. That will give me more time to focus on the reason for the season: TAX PREP! Kidding, but not kidding. Year-end prep for small businesses really kills the spirit of the holiday season. I digress.
To kick off your holiday shopping, we want to invite you again to our farm for Small Business Saturday. November 30th, 11am-1pm. This is our fourth time doing this event and each year it has been a great success! Returning this year we will have caterer Mary making delicious appetizers from our grass fed beef. Mary has trained as a chef and develops her own recipes. Having Celiacs herself, she will be making gluten-free options too! Mary will be hanging out in our kitchen on the day of the event to share her recipes and to answer any of your holiday cooking/baking questions.
We will have grass fed beef, natural pork, pasture raised chicken and organic butter and cheese available for sale that day. You will want to stock up. Our farm store tends to get busy right before the holidays and you don’t want to miss out. We have sold out of our Zweber Farms hams every year we have done this event. No pressure.
Like as in years past, we will be also hosting local crafters and makers. They will have a variety of items for you to browse and purchase for gifts. We will have quilters, corn hole bags and boards, crocheted items, homemade soaps, antiques and more!
I am particularly excited about one vendor, my husband Tim. When Tim isn’t working on the farm he is spending time in his woodshop creating. Boyd’s Woodshop, named after his grandfather who taught him a lot about wood, is Tim’s new venture. Tim uses all local and sustainably harvested woods. In fact, a lot of the wood is harvested here on our farm. Tim uses cherry, walnut, elm, oak, cedar, and maple.
Tim will have wood ornaments, cutting boards, vases, cheese boards and trivets for sale at the Small Business Saturday event.
Support a GREAT cause!
This year we are supporting and raising gifts for the Southern Valley Alliance for Battered Women. Please bring an unwrapped gift for a child or adult. We will have bins to place the gifts in. Let’s make this a season of joy for ALL!
Make it a day in Elko New Market!
This year we are partnering with two awesome local businesses to make Elko New Market a destination for small shopping. After you check out the items at our farm, make sure to head into town to visit Firefly Coffee and Aspen in Summer Decor. Both of these businesses are owned by AMAZING local women. They are having specials running all day for you. Just mention that you were at our farm and you can receive 10% off a purchase at either location.

Aspen in Summer Decor
So mark your calendars for November 30th from 11am-1pm. It will be a great day of supporting family farms, small businesses and getting into the holiday spirit!
