Dyeing Brown Eggs and other Easter Traditions

This weekend we will celebrate the death of Jesus Christ on the Cross and then his glorious resurrection to free us from our sins. I am sure your family is like ours and has many cherished traditions around this blessed holiday.

For us, Easter is not complete without ham. Have you thought about how you are going to cook yours? Here is a simple glazed ham recipe.

Also, Easter is not complete without dyeing hard boiled eggs. Our eggs come in all shapes, sizes and shades of brown.

They are kind of fun on their own without the dye. Today, I am going to sit down with the kids to do some dyeing. On Pinterest (did I mention I love that site) I found a link to TheKitchn.com blog and a post about using natural dyes from veggies, fruits and spices. I might have to dig around in our refrigerator and spice cabinet to see what I have.

Here is a picture of some brown eggs they dyed using natural dyes. BEAUTIFUL!
