I know I know, it is sacrilegious to cook hamburgers in the oven. Burgers are suppose to have that char flavor and the grill lines. BUT hear me out. We own an old charcoal Weber Grill. It takes at least 15-20 minutes to get the coal warm enough. During that time I need to make sure that the kids don’t go near the gill. With a one year old around and two boys who like to be dare devils on their bikes, it is quite amazing no one gets hurt. Then I have to cook the burgers on said grill (without anyone burning themselves). It would be nice if I had a husband who had a normal job and could help with cooking, but I don’t. So when I heard you could cook hamburgers in the oven I gave it a shot. And guess what, they turned out nice and juicy.
Oven baked Hamburgers
- 1 pound Zweber Farms ground beef
- 1 Zweber Farms egg (beaten)
- 1 clove garlic freshly grated
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- sliced cheese (optional)
- 1/4 black pepper
Preheat your oven to 475 degrees. Line a baking sheet with alumiumn foil and place a wire rack on top. (I used the wire rack I use to cool cookies)
Mix ingredients together and make into four burgers. Place the burgers on the wire rack.
Bake for 8-12 minutes, until burgers read 140 degrees for medium. If you want to add cheese, add the cheese during the last two minutes.
Serve on a bun with your favorite toppings, cold glass of Organic Valley milk, and (my favorite) pickles.
These burgers were a hit. Now I have a great recipe to make burgers without the grill. The best part is that I didn’t have to worry about burnt fingers. These oven baked burgers will even be great in the winter time.
